Panel Only, Module not included...
This is an alternative black & gold panel for the Mutable Instruments Elements modal synthesizer. Émilie Gillet graciously provided the design files of the panel to the community, but I wanted to design my own version. I did however use the measurements of the cuts and holes for my convenience.
Personally I wanted to use all white knobs instead of the colourful ones that came with the module. Designing the panel a problem emerged, there was no clear indication of the BLOW & STRIKE along with their corresponding controls & external inputs. On the original module besides the colourful knobs there are colour coded labels, but of course that was not possible with FR-4 panels not desirable to begin with. The solution I came up with was to use white & gold frames around the text. This way we get a clear indication of the two paths in an elegant way.
The white replacement knobs are not included with the panel. I wanted to give the option of a kit that includes the panel along with the 2 large and 4 small white knobs, but I couldn’t find them in the EU for a reasonable price.
The panel is made of PCB with matte black solder mask. The exposed copper is coated using the ENIG-RoHS (Nickel and Gold) finish for extra durability and nice golden color.
**Disclaimer | Before you buy** This is not an official Mutable Instruments product. You are fully responsible for any damage you cause to your module, other gear or your self while handling, installing or using the parts that I offer. This panel is designed using the dimensions found on the original files that Mutable Instruments provided. That means that it will fit perfectly on the original Elements module, but I cannot guarantee that it will fit at all on the various DIY versions. I take no responsibility if you can’t install your panels for any reason, but I am willing to help guide you if you ask me. The panels are made of PCB so there will be minor imperfections on the silk screen, or the solder mask, the holes, the cuts etc.. In fact, it’s really rare for a PCB panel not to have imperfections. This has to do with the manufacturing process and the materials that are used.
